Saying Or Doing?

A child says "Mother, I love you," but refuses to clean up his room as asked, and does not obey in other matters.
A husband says to his wife, "I love you honey," but does not consider her feelings or help her with her burdens.
We say to God, "I love you more than anyone or anything," but then allows worldly things to come before Him.
We say to Jesus, "I love you Lord, for dying for me," but fail to obey Him and fail to follow Him.

Friends, it is not in the SAYING but in the DOING that really counts. Pretty words of love and devotion are easily spoken. We convey true devotion and love for the Lord by DOING what God's word teaches.

Dear reader, Jesus said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." (Matthew 22:37).
"If ye love me, keep my commandments," (John 14:15).
"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46).
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21).

Dear reader, do you love the Lord? If so, you will obey him and live for him.
