Enniskillen swimmers had a fantastic day at the Swim Belfast Invitational, showcasing their dedication and hard work with an impressive medal haul and personal bests. The Lakelanders ASC squad of 20 swimmers competed against strong regional opposition, rising to the challenge with outstanding performances. Among the standout performers was 12-year-old Poppy Brownlee, who finished fifth in the 25m butterfly and sixth in the 25m breaststroke, embracing four new events. 11-year-old Ella Rose Carron impressed with a two-second personal best in the 100m freestyle and a new personal best of 57.78 seconds in the 50m breaststroke. Aoife Donnelly, aged 8, produced a significant personal best in the 25m breaststroke and narrowly missed the podium. Eoghan Donnelly, aged 12, claimed bronze in the 25m backstroke and placed third in the 25m butterfly. Sophie Hanna had a remarkable day, securing third and fourth places in the 100m and 200m backstroke with a 2.5-second and five-second personal best, respectively, and earning consideration times for the Irish National Championships. Emily Irvine, competing up an age group, claimed gold in the 25m backstroke and bronze in the 25m freestyle, finishing fourth in the butterfly and recording personal bests in breaststroke. Jack Loizides demonstrated confidence by taking on new strokes and producing encouraging swims. Lauren Loizides had a productive day, improving her times in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle and completing her first 200m freestyle. Maya McClintock showed remarkable consistency, claiming second places in the 25m backstroke and freestyle, sixth in butterfly and breaststroke, and third in the 50m freestyle. Erin McGrath earned bronze in the 25m breaststroke and recorded a personal best in backstroke. Ella Neal achieved top-10 finishes in the 100m and 200m backstroke while maintaining her time in the 200m freestyle. Imogen Neal posted personal bests in multiple events, including the 50m and 100m freestyle, breaststroke, and 50m backstroke. Tiana Mbeulani continued her progress with personal bests in the 50m and 100m freestyle while maintaining entry times in breaststroke. Elin O'Donohue set personal bests in the 50m butterfly and 50m breaststroke, earning a top-five finish in butterfly and bronze in breaststroke. Isla O'Donohue, competing in her second gala, showed promise with top-three finishes in the 25m breaststroke and freestyle. Isabella Rasdale improved her personal bests in breaststroke and freestyle, finishing first in her freestyle heat. Kealan Rice maintained his time in the 100m freestyle and completed his first 200m breaststroke. Maia Rolston-McAuliffe posted personal bests in the 200m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, and 100m backstroke, finishing fifth, sixth, and 11th, respectively. Alise Uzulina recorded a personal best in the 25m backstroke and strong swims in breaststroke and freestyle. Haralds Uzulins rounded off the day with personal bests in the 50m butterfly and 50m breaststroke, claiming first place in the latter. Club PRO Janette Mongan praised the swimmers' dedication, stating that their performances were a direct result of their hard work and commitment to training, and expressed pride in their representation of Enniskillen. The club also paid tribute to the coaches and volunteers whose support was vital to the team's success.
