Almost Persuaded

Paul said in Acts 26:27-28 "King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian."  Paul had preached to the king with earnestness and conviction. But notice King Agrippa's response to the message, "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." Agrippa was almost persuaded to become a Christian, but this was as far as it went.

The hymn we often sing says, "Almost cannot avail, almost is but to fail." To be almost persuaded is to be almost saved; to be almost saved is to be COMPLETELY LOST. There will be no consolation at the day of judgment when the records show that the person being judged was once almost persuaded to take his stand with Christ by becoming a Christian.

If you BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the son of God, you should REPENT of your sins, CONFESS your faith in Christ, and be BAPTIZED [immersed in water] for the remission of your sins, Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38, 41, 47; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 8:35-39, 22:16; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:26-27; Hebrews 5:8-9. We hope you will be persuaded to OBEY God's simple plan of salvation so that you can become a Christian, a member of the Lord's church. "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;" II Corinthians 5:11. Dear reader, may we assist you in your gospel obedience?
